In November 2022, AES Vietnam, in collaboration with the Association for the Support of Vietnamese Handicapped and Orphans in Quang Ninh Province and the Association for Promoting Education of Ham Tan District and Son My Commune in Binh Thuan Province, presented 350 scholarships, worth a total of VND280 million, to disadvantaged students in the communities.
Mr. Nguyen Cong My, Chairman of the Association for Promoting Education of Son My Commune, said, “ In our community, even though many families are still facing a lot of financial challenges, we work hard to make sure that no child drops out from school. At the same time, local students strive hard in their studies, and we have a very high ratio of students who advance their studies in college and universities. The AES Scholarship program is a meaningful initiative in the last 3 years which motivated local students and helped us maintain that meaningful tradition and record”.
This is the seventh year AES Vietnam has implemented the scholarship program for disadvantaged students in Vietnam. Over the past 15 years, AES and its subsidiaries have implemented 135 CSR programs, focusing on four key pillars – Health, Education, Livelihoods and Infrastructure – contributing to making a permanent difference and improving the quality of lives of more than 200,000 people in the local community in Vietnam.
