Vietnam National Conference on Sustainable Development 2018 was held on July 5 in Hanoi with the theme of . “Enhancing Competitiveness, Realizing Sustainable Development Goals amidst Industrial Revolution 4.0”. The Conference received special attention and participation from top leaders of Vietnam including Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc and Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam, leaders of Ministries, Cities and Provinces all over Vietnam. Ambassador of Australia, Ambassador of Switzerland and over 600 representatives of international and domestic NGOs, business and the media have joined a full day Conference.
As an active Executive Board Member of The Vietnam Business Council for Sustainable Development (VBCSD) AES Mong Duong has always been a strong supporter for the sustainable development agenda in Vietnam. AES Mong Duong representatives presented at the Conference to show the strong commitment to the sustainability initiatives, get the most update information on directions, plans, programs that Vietnamese Government, ministries, localities and international organizations are working on to improve the business environment, while enhancing national competitiveness towards the goal of sustainable development. It was an opportunity for the team to learn best practices of sustainable development from market leaders, exchange ways to create an enabling environment to nurture innovative business solutions that not only were commercially viable but also effectively addressed environmental and social issues.
For two consecutive years, AES Mong Duong has been ranked in top 100 most sustainable companies of Vietnam. The Company would also publish the second Sustainability Report using GRI Standards in Quarter 4, 2018.
