AES Vietnam President Meets with EVN Leadership to Advance Strategic Energy Projects
Being recognized as one of the leaders in Sustainability Reporting, earlier this year, GRI representative in Vietnam requested AES Mong Duong to join their Corporate Sustainability and Reporting for Competitive Business Program as an Implemented Partner.
The aim of the CSRCB Program is to contribute to a better integration of companies into Global Value Chains through sector-specific sustainability reporting by companies, resulting in more jobs and income opportunities.
As an Implemented Partner, AES Mong Duong’s role in this program is a good mentor, which will guide and support chosen suppliers/partner in approaching and implementing sustainability initiatives in their operation. AES Mong Duong has successfully spread safety belief to not only AES People but also subcontractors. The same scheme can be implemented with sustainability effort. By spreading the knowledge, the Company also hope to improve our supplier’s capability and sustainable development.
In July 13-14, the training was implemented with over 30 representatives from 11 vendors. During the 2-days course, the trainees gained basic understanding of Sustainability Reporting and objectives of Competitive Business Program as well as worked together to identify initial materiality aspects for their business. The trainees also had chance to practice with the on-line reporting tool of GRI and step-by-step preparing their Sustainability Report.
The Program is expected to be implemented during 6 months period with 4 additional training sessions. By the end of January 2019, each of the participants will have their first the Sustainability Report.
