AES Mong Duong was ranked top 10 sustainable companies out of over 500 applicants in Vietnam in 2018. On November 22 in Hanoi, the top 100 sustainable enterprises in 2018 in Vietnam were announced at a ceremony held by the Vietnam Business Council for Sustainable Development (VBCSD), under the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI).
To be named in the list of top 100 sustainable enterprises, all applicants must satisfy 131 strict criteria of the Corporate Sustainability Index (CSI) which combines both international and Vietnamese legal regulations, standards and practices, the CSI also requires an effective and strong management foundation toward sustainable development. Each indicator is classified into basic and advanced criteria. AES Mong Duong has reached the advanced level where Company’s development plan is aligned with the 17 Sustainable Development Goals.
Speaking at the ceremony, Vietnam Deputy Prime Minister Vuong Dinh Hue praised the annual CSI ranking and contributions of the business community to local economic growth.
Mr. David Stone received the award at the Ceremony and had the opportunity to meet with Deputy Prime Minister Vuong Dinh Hue to update him on AES sustainability agenda in Vietnam and globally.

The Company has been ranked top 100 sustainable enterprises for three years consecutively and this is the 2nd time it was among the top 10 since the first time in 2016. David Stone is Vice Chairman of Vietnam Business Council for Sustainable Development and he commits to continue to raise the profile of sustainability in the industry, share lessons and experiences to accelerate its wider adoption in Vietnam.
