Quang Ninh, May 2025,
AES Mong Duong has successfully concluded its STEM (- Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) Education Program – “Safety and Save of Electricity”, aimed at enhancing awareness of electrical safety and promoting the efficient use of electricity among secondary school teachers and students in Cam Pha City.
The program, launched in November 2024, provided specialized training for 48 secondary school teachers in Cam Pha city, equipping them with active learning techniques, experiential education methods, and integrated STEAM approaches (- Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) aligned with the General Education Program (GEP) 2018. The teachers were also provided with five STEM lessons and accompanying teaching tools focusing on electrical safety and energy efficiency.
AES Mong Duong also supported the implementation of these STEM lessons in four secondary schools, including Mong Duong, Cong Hoa, Cam Hai, and Duong Huy. These lessons enabled students to grasp fundamental principles of safe electricity usage, efficiency measures, and problem-solving techniques within a STEAM-based learning framework.
Encouraging Student Innovation
From January to April 2025, AES Mong Duong launched a student innovation competition centered on electrical safety and efficient electricity usage, drawing participation from 319 students across nine secondary schools. The competition received 165 projects, including 136 communication-based initiatives and 29 prototype models.
The final round of the competition was held, with 37 awards distributed, including two first prizes, five second prizes, ten third prizes, and 20 encouragement awards, recognizing outstanding student creativity and technical innovation.
Industry Engagement and Community Outreach
AES Mong Duong further expanded its commitment to STEM education by engaging professionals in mentorship activities. Two AES Mong Duong engineers served as judges at the Science and Technology Competition for secondary and high school students in Cam Pha City, assessing student-led research projects and prototypes.
Additionally, AES Mong Duong conducted a special extracurricular program at Dong Mo Secondary School, providing 50 ethnic minority students with critical knowledge on electrical safety and efficient energy use, reinforcing the company’s dedication to community education and engagement.
Commitment to a Sustainable Future
Through this initiative, AES Mong Duong has reaffirmed its commitment to fostering STEM education and empowering the next generation with essential knowledge on electrical safety and sustainable energy practices. By equipping teachers and students with practical learning tools and real-world applications, the program continues to create meaningful impact and contributes to a safer, more energy-efficient future.
