On August 29, AES Mong Duong Power Co. Ltd. presented 100 scholarships to disadvantage children from Mong Duong ward, Cam Hai and Cong Hoa commune of Cam Pha city through the scholarship program of Quang Ninh Fund for Children.
The Ceremony was held in Mong Duong People’s Committee at the presence of Mr. Tran Hoang Hai, Vice Chairman of Cam Pha People’s Council, Mr. Hoang Van Dung, Director of Quang Ninh Fund for Children, representatives of Quang Ninh Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs, local authorities, scholarship recipients, their teachers and parents. Mr. Kevin Pierce, Plant Manager of Mong Duong 2 BOT Power Plant and members of his leadership team joined the event to present scholarship to local children.

The total scholarship of 120 million Vietnam dong (equivalent to USD 5,300) of AES Mong Duong Power Co. Ltd. is a part of a long-term CSR program aiming toward improvement of education, healthcare and environment for local people. In 2017, in addition to the provision of scholarships, the Company also upgrades 3 schools in the Project area and implements many other projects focusing on healthcare and environment.
Addressing at the Ceremony, Mr. Kevin Pierce said: “We are committed to improve the education environment since this is one of the important factors to improve the living standards and ensure sustainable development of the community. We are very proud to partner with National Fund for Vietnamese children in Quang Ninh province to implement this important mission.”
On behalf of local authorities, Mr. Tran Hoang Hai expressed his sincere thanks to AES and emphasized that the scholarship was a meaningful gift that motivate children to advance their study and help their parent to cover part of the educational costs. Local authorities and communities recognize and hilghly appreciate Company’s contribution to the socio-economic development of Cam Pha city.
On this occasion AES Mong Duong Power Co. Ltd. was honor to receive a certificate of recognition as “Golden Heart” from Quang Ninh Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs.
