US Ambassador to Vietnam, Daniel J. Kritenbrink presented the 2018 Amcham CSR Award to AES Mong Duong team
Amcham honored its members’ best corporate social responsibility (CSR) programs at the annual meeting presided over by United States Ambassador Daniel J. Kritenbrink on December 5, 2018 in Hanoi. The Amcham CSR Recognition Award was presented to AES Mong Duong by Ambassador Daniel J. Kritenbrink. This is the recognition for AES Mong Duong’s transparency, good governance, and sustainable business practices provides a model for others to follow in Vietnam and reflects the best practices that AmCham seeks to promote.
Twenty-seven firms received the CSR Recognition Award for understanding the linkages between business operations and society and conducting business in a way that creates both long-term economic and social value. To qualify for AmCham’s CSR Recognition Award, a member company’s CSR program must receive high marks in four separate categories: (1) Attention to business objectives and societal needs; (2) Creation of long-term economic and social gains; (3) Communication and sharing of best practices; (4) Program sustainability.
In addition to the Ambassador remarks to the US business communities in Vietnam, the event includes also remarks by visiting US Assistant Secretary of Commerce Ian Steff who both emphasize the importance of Vietnam in the U.S. strategy toward the Indo-Pacific.
At the same event, Mr. David Stone, Managing Director of AES Mong Duong was re-elected as one of the 2019 Amcham Governors for the third year for his works to improve the business climate, increase trade and investment between the United States and Vietnam.
