AES Vietnam President Meets with EVN Leadership to Advance Strategic Energy Projects
On 23 May 2019, AES Vietnam people and the contractors gathered at Mong Duong 2 Power Plant to celebrate the Safety Day. This year’s message of “make the safety smarter” was widely conveyed to the employees and all contractors in a meeting organized on 23 May morning.
In line with the corporation’s strategy of adopting and using digital technology to improve the working practice and safety process, AES Vietnam has been applying Drones to implement boilers and 500kV line inspections, TKPro for data storage and Tap Root for incident root cause analysis and remedy action plans, which showed remarkable working practice and safety process improvement.
Besides, JSA and material gate pass software, GPI Learn has also been working effectively to provide online technical trainings to the operators and technical staffs and helped to save hundreds of hours of working interruption.
On this occasion, recognitions were made to honor outstanding individuals and teams for their safety achievements over the last year. The “Safety Excellence of the year 2018” award went to Electrical Maintenance team who had 100% safety meeting attendance, 306 safety observations were reported, 4 safety champions recognitions over the year and other remarkable records of safety walks and stop work authority implementation ; and “Contractor Safety Team of the year 2018” went to Aden Services Company who has been demonstrating most effectively AES’s safety values and proactively communicating and training their employees to comply with safety regulations without any incidents over the last years.
Safety Song Karaoke Competition were also very interesting activities that excitingly participated in by the people. Nine shortlisted songs out of forty-six submissions were performed in the Gala Diner for determination of the winners. The special performances made this year Safety Day very unique when AES people could express through the songs their feelings on how working in a right way helped them to improve.
2019 Safety Day recorded first-time-ever active and enthusiastic involvement of the contractors through different activities, especially the “Contractor Golden Bell Challenge” which was particularly organized for them to present their knowledge of AES’s safety culture. The “Golden Bell” winner was Nguyen Kim Cuong, a technician of Galaxy M&E Company. This proved a great effort of AES Vietnam in extending its strong safety culture to the contractors and a big step toward safer working environment in Mong Duong 2 Power Plant.
