AES Vietnam presented 1,000 COVID-19 rapid test kits to Ham Tan Healthcare Center to support the fight against the pandemic in Binh Thuan Province. This support package also includes 500 N95 face masks. The handover ceremony was organized with the presence of representatives Ham Tan Healthcare Center, AES Vietnam and other members of local authorities.
The support package, with a total value of approximately VND235 million, was initiated in response to the current COVID-19 outbreak in Binh Thuan Province. The fourth wave of the COVID-19 pandemic in Vietnam is proving longer and much more serious than previous ones. Rapid testing would be used predominantly, so positive cases can be detected and isolated sooner.
“Due to the complicated situation in Ham Tam district, as well as in the whole of Binh Thuan Province, and with a lack of medical supplies for prevention work at Ham Tan Healthcare Center, the attention and support of AES Vietnam has helped us relieve some of the pressure and create better conditions for disease prevention and control in the district,” said Mr. Huynh Van Tuong, Director of Ham Tam Healthcare Center.

We are making major efforts to secure the health of not only our employees and ensure the continuity of our operations, but also the safety of the local communities in which we operate, and we are happy to be able to contribute further to the prevention of the pandemic in Vietnam with this support.”
The support package for fighting COVID-19 is part of AES Vietnam’s social impact program, which aims to improve the quality of life for local communities, focusing on four main pillars – Health, Education, Livelihoods and Infrastructure.
Since 2020, the programs have included initiatives such as providing scholarships to 100 students from disadvantaged families and giving Tet gifts to 100 households in difficult circumstances in Ham Tan ward and Son My commune.
