Olivier Marquette Joins Forum Celebrating 30 Years of Vietnam–U.S. Relations
Mong Duong, 24March 2017–AES Mong Duong washonor to receive the National Assembly delegation at Mong Duong 2 BOT Power Plant during their business trip to supervise the implementation of Power MasterPlan VII as well as collecting feedback from leaders of the power plant. Mr. Le Hong Tinh, Vice Chairman of the Committee for Science, Technology and Environment (CSTE) lead the delegation. Joining him, there were also officials from CSTE; General Directorate of Energy; Electricity Regulatory Authority of Vietnam under Ministry of Industry and Trade;EVN and National assembly delegates of Hai Phong and Hai Duong City.
The meeting was hosted by Mr. Kevin Pierce, Power Plant Manager, and supported by representatives from several departments including Operation, EHS, Legal, Maintenance, Engineering and Stakeholders Management. Mr. Kevin has shared with the delegation the Company’sachievements since Power Plant has been put into commercial operation, especially theeffort in mitigating the environmental effects to the surrounding area. Mr. Kevin also raised some difficultiesrelating tocombustion by-products sales.Mr. Le Hong Tinh highly appreciated AES Mong Duong’s environmental protection activities and social-economic development activities for the surrounding community. He noted the difficulties that AES Mong Duong was facing and committed to work with relevant ministries and central agencies to solve outstanding issues related to the government procedures to ensure smooth and efficient operation for the power plant.
