AES Mong Duong Pickleball Tournament 2025
Devoting to the mission of improving lives and bringing positive changes to the communities where we operate, AES Mong Duong has always demonstrated this commitment not only through reliable operation of the Mong Duong 2 Power Plant, but also a range of sustainable community development activities. The training session on electric safety to 174 households residing in Zone 10, Dong Mo Village is part of these efforts.
Dong Mo is one of the poorest villages in Mong Duong ward, Cam Pha city with the population of more than 600 people (mostly Dao ethnic minority) whose living based on forestation and small-scale household breeding. This area is so remote that only until 2015 it was connected to the national grid and people for first time start having home electric equipment in their lives. And the training was organized upon request and expectation of local government to improve basic knowledge and awareness of the ethnic people on how to use home electric appliances safely and economically.
Delivered in a simple and easy-to-understand way by AES Mong Duong’s Electrical Technician Mr. Nguyen Thanh Binh, the training was well received by local people. Many of them were first time equipped with helpful knowledge on how to handle safely the equipment like electric pumps, fans, cookers, light bulbs, TVs, radio… and in an energy saving way. Besides, basic knowledge of electrical shock prevention and response to an electrical shock emergency were also communicated to the participants.
“As most of the residents in this area are ethnic minorities with lower education, this kind of training is really practical and helpful. Especially when the village has only been connected to the grid for about 2 years and most of the people are still not familiar with electrical equipment. We are very grateful to see how much the Company concern and care about people safety while operating such equipment” said Mr. Pham Ngoc Lu, Chairman of Mong Duong People Committee after the training.
The 2 hours training was cheerfully closed by handing over souvenir gifts to all the participants. Nearly 200 energy-saving light bulbs value of approximately 25 million VND were provided. This gift would not only help local households to have more lighting but also provide them with an initial access to electric-saving solutions.
