Earlier this month, Stakeholder Management Team of AES Mong Duong has conducted 3 Quarterly meetings with representatives of local authorities and communities of Mong Duong ward, Cong Hoa and Cam Hai communes at their People’s Committee office. Leaders all three communes received the AES Mong Duong team with warm hospitality.
As usual, the team updated the progress and operations of the Mong Duong 2 Power Plant, shared CSR projects that were implemented during the period as well as receive feedback from communities and address any concern they may have on the Power Plant Operation.
Currently, there are 114 people from Mong Duong ward, 75 people from Cong Hoa commune and 30 people from Cam Hai commune working for the Project under the Company, contractors and third-party service providers, which accounted for 33.49% of total local workforce. The team also updated all awards and recognitions the Company received recently including ISO 14001:2015 Environment Certificate and OHSAS 18001: 2007 Safety Certificate. In 2017, AES Mong Duong has invested almost VND 2.5 billion in CSR Projects that benefit not only people from Mong Duong, Cong Hoa and Cam Hai but also people living in Quang Ninh Province.
The meetings were a meaningful session of information disclosure from AES Mong Duong to local authorities and civil organization. Mr. Khong Van Thien, Vice Chairman of People’s Committee of Cam Hai communes said leaders of Cam Hai highly appreciate AES Mong Duong for providing ample resources of information like monthly reports, quarterly meetings to help local leaders and people to have a better understanding on Mong Duong 2 Power Plant Operation. The number of CSR projects, value and beneficiaries could tell a lot about company contribution to the development of the communes. People in Cam Hai are very pleased and grateful to the Company for all the support they received.
Embedded in the Stakeholder Engagement Plan, quarterly meetings with local authorities and representative of communities are scheduled to provide project information and gain feedback from communities relevant to the Project and community’s concerns.
