AES Vietnam President Meets with EVN Leadership to Advance Strategic Energy Projects
On 25 April 2014, we held a ceremony to receive the Golden Hardhat Award presented by The AES Corporation. Joining the ceremony was Mr. Pham Minh Chinh, Quang Ninh Provincial Party Committee Secretary, Mr. Do Thong, Vice Chairman of Quang Ninh Provincial People’s Committee, Mr. Andrew Vesey, Chief Operating Officer and Executive Vice President of The AES Corporation, together with other high level representatives from our shareholders, POSCO Energy and China Investment Corporation.A
The Golden Hardhat Award is a prestigious annual award established in 2009 by The AES Corporation to recognize a single AES operating business or construction project that exemplifies what it means to put safety first, made significant improvements in comparison with previous performance, developed new safety techniques and best practices and improved safety performance significantly through execution of proactive or new safety practices. With our outstanding safety achievements in 2013 for the Mong Duong II Project, including a record of over 9 million man-hours without an LTI and a prestigious Silver Award from the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents, we have been chosen among 120 peer business across the world for this prestigious award.
