Quang Ninh, March 28, 2025
AES Mong Duong successfully organized the tree planting program “A Green Journey, A Better Earth” at Ash Pond 2 (“AP2”), with over 125 participants, including AES Mong Duong people and representatives from the Quang Ninh Department of Forestry Protection, as well as leaders and residents of Hai Hoa Commune.
This initiative marks the commencement of forest restoration efforts following the impact of Typhoon Yagi. Over 3,300 Caribbean pine trees were planted, contributing to reforestation and the ecological recovery of the area.
Speaking at the event, Mr. Diep Van Nguyen, Vice Chairman of the Hai Hoa Commune People’s Committee, stated: “On behalf of the Hai Hoa Commune People’s Committee, I would like to express our appreciation for the company’s efforts in forest restoration. The local government and people of Hai Hoa Commune always support the company’s activities.”
Ms. Hoang Thuy Ngan, Planning Manager, AES Mong Duong, emphasized: “At AES Mong Duong, we are committed to sustainable development and environmental stewardship. Planting trees today is an investment in a greener, healthier future for generations to come.”
Over the past years, AES Mong Duong has actively collaborated with partners to implement tree planting programs to protect the environment. From 2022-2024, we have provided more than 20,000 seedlings to the local community, including Iron-wood, Menghundor and Chukrasia, which complemented the government’s large timber plantation program. Also in April 2025, we are pleased to donate 4,500 seedings to Mong Duong Commune, continuing our program of providing seedlings for local efforts.
This is a part of our CSR program. Over the past 13 years, AES Mong Duong has implemented more than 175 CSR programs, focusing on four key pillars – Health & Safety, Education, Livelihoods, and Infrastructure – contributing to making a permanent difference and improving the quality of life for more than 200,000 people in the local community in Quang Ninh province.
