Hanoi, 27-29 March 2017– Mr. David Stone represents AES Mong Duong in the US-ASEAN Business Council 2018 Business Mission in Hanoi. This is an annual event organized by US-ASEAN Business Council with the participation of 33 leading U.S. companies from a cross section of sectors to engage the Government of Vietnam on trade and investment opportunities.
The mission delegation led by Alexander Feldman, President & CEO of the US-ASEAN Business Council, Ambassador Michael Michalak, Senior Vice President & Regional Managing Director of the US-ASEAN Business Council. During 3 day-mission, the delegation met with Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc, Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Uong Chu Luu, and leaders of other key ministries, state-owned enterprises, and international organizations.
“Following two heads-of-state exchanges in 2017 and on the heels of a historic visit by the USS Carl Vinson to Da Nang earlier this month, the US-Vietnam bilateral relationship has reached an all-time high,” said Ambassador Michael Michalak. “The strong showing of our delegation this year exemplifies the continued interest and commitment of the American business community in Vietnam.”
Mr. Stone has talked to various leaders from Vietnam Government including Prime Minister H.E. Nguyen Xuan Phuc, Vice Minister of Trade and Industry, President of Electricity of Vietnam (EVN), Chairman of Vietnam National Oil & Gas Group (PVN) and other government stakeholders on key business opportunities and challenges to improve the business and investment climate in Vietnam. He also shared community development programs that AES Mong Duong has been implementing in the project areas in the past few years. Since 2012, the Company has been investing over US$410,000 in health, education and local capacity building to improve life quality of a community of over 20,000 inhabitants.
AES Mong Duong’s visibility and commitment to Vietnam market is again restated through this event.
