AES Mong Duong supports the local community with Environment Education and Integrated Waste Management project on Values Day 2024
AES Mong Duong presented the seedling fruit trees to the people of Cong Hoa commune
Cong Hoa is a Mong Duong 2 Power Plant neighboring commune where local authorities carry out a comprehensive New Rural Development Program, a nationwide initiative to improve the environment and living condition in the rural area. One of the key program is “Making Model Garden” at every household which aims to increase number of fruit trees and vegetables at family garden to improve their food source and income.
This is where Company CSR focus meet the local needs: planting more trees is one of the objective in the environment conservation program that AES Mong Duong is working on. The program does not only increase the number of trees in the area, provide better landscape but also help to diverse the source of income for the local people. Pomelo and orange trees were selected for the project upon recommendation from the local agricultural experts. Three hundreds seedling fruit trees were handed over by AES Mong Duong CSR team to 30 local households of Cong Hoa commune to create “Model Garden” on September 21, 2017.
The initiative was highly appreciated by local authorities and communities as one among several efforts that AES Mong Duong has made to support the local communities in their sustainable development agenda.
