Ms. Le My Hanh, Stakeholder Manager of AES Mong Duong Power Co. Ltd., joined the Executive Board Meeting of VBCSD which was held in Hanoi on April 9. The meeting was led by Mr. Vu Tien Loc, Chairman of Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCT) cum Co-Chairman of VBCSD with a participation of executive members of VBCSD, who are pioneers in sustainable development in Vietnam including Heineken, Bao Viet, AES Mong Duong, Unilever, Coca-Cola, Suntory-PepsiCo and many other members.
Activities and achievements of VBCSD in 2017 were highlighted at the meeting including Successful organization of the 3rd VBCSD General Assembly, Updates to the Corporate Sustainability Index (CSI) and continuation of the Program on Benchmarking and Announcing Sustainable Companies in Vietnam, Vietnam Corporate Sustainability Forum 2017, setting up Vietnam Centre for Circular Economy (VCCE) and Advisory Group on Sustainable Development and Digital Evolution. 2018 Action plan for 2018 were also thoroughly discussed with focus on collective effort to promote the sustainability agenda among business communities in Vietnam.
The Executive members were later received by Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam at the Government office to elaborate recommendations made by private sector to the government to enhance the sustainable development agenda. Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam lead the National Council for Sustainable Development who is responsible for developing initiatives and promoting sustainability agenda in Vietnam. At the meeting, Mr. Dam emphasized the importance of sustainability in the country long-term social-economic development and role of the pioneer members in setting the trend for the economy. By actively participating in the Sustainability forum, AES Mong Duong once again reconfirm the Company commitment to sustainability development and promote sustainability efforts being done by AES in Vietnam and around the world.
