AES Vietnam President Meets with EVN Leadership to Advance Strategic Energy Projects
Quang Ninh, 17May 2017– As an annual event of AES Corporation, This year Safety Day was organized with the theme of “Safety. Take it personally”. The message is “Every day, our people around the world put their lives on the line when they come to help improve other people’s lives. There’s simply nothing more personal than life. Safety. Take it personally today and every day.”
As the result of all safety effort for 2016, AES Mong Duong have passed a challenging year with almost 5 million man-hours without LTI. AES Mong Duong was also recognized as ASIA Business Unit of the Year based on the Best Safety Performance during the period from May 2016 to May 2017.The award was presented by Eurasia SBU President, Mr. Mark Green.

As the tradition, to recognize and honor the efforts of employees and Contractors on their performance and to follow the Safety Recognition and Promotion Procedure, assessment criteria with Key Performance Indicators focusing the proactive, reactive and initiatives was created to assess and select the group as best safety performers of 2016. Based on the result, Electrical Maintenance team was honored as SAFETY EXCELLENCE OF THE YEAR and Contractor PSS was recognized as CONTRACTOR SAFFETY TEAM OF THE YEAR. For individual recognition, Mr. Nguyen Quang, Nguyen Tuan and Ngo Dong also recognized as SAFETY CHAMPION OF THE YEAR.
Following the recognition program and in the spirit of the 2017 Safety day, the Environment, Health and Safety (EHS) Department has organized Oil Spill Drill and EmergencyInjuryPersonEvacuationwith theparticipationoftheMongDuong 2 EmergencyBrigade in coordination with ExternalEnvironmentalSOSAgency and MongDuong 1 EmergencyBrigade.

One month prior to the official celebration day, EHS also raised the ‘JSA AND PRE-JOB BRIEFING’ Competition. The competition aims to strengthen the awareness, refresh and reinforce the knowledge and improve the skills on our Safety Beliefs and ‘JSA and Pre-job Briefing’ procedure.
The Final Round of the ‘JSA AND PRE-JOB BRIEFING’ Competition successfully ended in the Gala Dinner on 17th May 2017. Spending most efforts, all teams completedtheir performance with fun and knowledge. Especially, this time 2 teams gained exactly same score at the 2nd place.

- 2nd Place – BOP MECHANICAL MAINTENANCE and OPERATION GROUP B
