On 7 December 2017, AES Mong Duong Power Company Limited was honored in the top 100 most sustainable enterprises in Vietnam 2017. The Vietnam Business Council for Sustainable Development coordinated with the Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs, the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor and the State Securities Commission to organize this event. This achievement marks the continuous effort of the Company toward sustainable development.
Mr. David Stone, Managing Director of the Company, honored to receive the award from Mr. Hoang Quang Phong, Vice President of VCCI and Mr. Ke Tan Dung, Vice Minister of MOLISA.
The “Program on Benchmarking and Ranking the Most Sustainable Companies in Vietnam”, launched in 2016, and this year also the second year AES Mong Duong Power Company Limited was honored in the top 100 most sustainable enterprises in Vietnam. The Candidate Evaluation Process is based on the Corporate Sustainability Index (CSI), which consists of 134 criteria established by experts in the fields of economics, social affairs, labor and environment. CSI reflects the credibility, brand, capabilities of the business to attract human resources, operational processes, future development potential as well as social and environmental responsibility.
The presence of a world-class power corporation like AES in Vietnamese market does not only contribute to the social-economic development of the country but also set a higher standard for the power generation sector, aiming toward sustainable development for the whole industry.This year, the organizing board received over 500 applications, of which, most were from Vietnamese entities. This result reconfirmed Vietnam commitment toward sustainability development.
