AES Mong Duong Highlights Safety Commitment at Safety Day 2024
On 22 November 2019, AES Mong Duong Power Company Ltd., coordinated with the People’s Committee of Cam Hai Commune to celebrate AES Values Day 2019 in Cam Hai Commune, Cam Pha city, Quang Ninh province.
The Values Day is an annual event of the Company to honor the Values that AES’s activities are based on – Safety, Integrity, Agility, Fun and Excellence. During the ceremony, the Company presented its Values and shared with the local community and authorities the way that the Values are adopted every single day.
On this occasion, AES Mong Duong also implemented an educational program on electricity safety – a presentation and games to provide helpful information and increase awareness of the local people in Cam Hai commune. The educational program was combined with a home electric system renovation for fifty (50) low-income households and nine (09) public facilities where inspections and assessment had been carefully done by the AES’s technicians one month prior to the event. All unqualified sockets, electric lines, light bulbs or appliances with high risk of electric shock were replaced or reinforced to ensure the safety for the users.
Activities, valued totally VND330 million, were implemented for the community as the result of the regular public consultation and tight coordination between the Power Plant and the local authorities. The local leaders expressed their satisfaction that the CSR program of AES helps strengthen the relationship between the Company and local people and also shows high responsibility and commitment to the development of the community.
Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. David Stone, Managing Director said: “Every day AES people around the globe including constantly keep bringing our Values to real actions, of which I’m very proud of. Today, I and my colleagues are more than happy to share with our distinguished guests and the local residents our belief in the Values and I hope later today you will see how our Values-oriented business is improving lives, with a special focus on enhancing the way of living of this local community specifically.”
Beside this event, AES Mong Duong Power Company Ltd., has also contributed about VND10 billion in other CSR programs in Quang Ninh province focusing on education, healthcare, environment protection and livelihood improvement.
